SITEVI 2019: at the heart of crop production

November is full of events and interesting experiences for Forigo’s team! From the 26th to the 28th of November in Montpellier, France, the largest international fair for everything related to the wine, olive-oil and fruit and vegetable sectors will take place: SITEVI 2019. In these three days companies and professionals will have the opportunity to take part in conferences, talks and workshops around several key topics for the development of the industry and the market. SITEVI was born more than forty years ago, in 1977 and, since then, it keeps growing in importance. At present, this event can declare a remarkable relevance both in Europe and worldwide. Focus of this French trade show are the three key sectors of agricultural production: vine-wine sector, fruit-vegetables sector and olive sector. For this reason, year after year SITEVI hosts important companies of these three sectors, setting itself as a fundamental meeting point aimed at favoring mutual exchange between players.
The 2017 edition, which celebrated the 40th anniversary of the event, had a record success, confirming SITEVI as the leading trade show for the sector, the best known and most attended. The numbers are the irrefutable evidence of this: the visitors came from more than 60 nations of the world, for a total of about 57,000 entries; waiting for them, there were around 1,100 exhibitors from 25 different countries.
Without any doubt, contributing to the success of the event are forums and workshops focused on multiple topics. These occasions are essential to really understand what moves the industry and what changes the sector must face, as well as the future towards we are moving. The previous edition saw around 2000 participants in the 40 events organized over the various days, with topics ranging from robotics to disease resistant grape varieties. Moreover, in collaboration with the Institut Français de la Vigne et du Vin and in association with AFIDOL (Association Française Interprofessionnelle de l’Olive) 25 tastings were organized with about 600 participants.
There is another special feature of this important event: the SITEVI Innovation Awards, an international competition that rewards the most innovative equipment, products, techniques and services presented by the show’s exhibitors. The judging panel of SITEVI 2019 is composed of more than 20 members, chosen among the best French and international specialists in the three sectors at the centre of the event. The awards ceremony this year gave 2 gold medals, 5 silver medals and 12 bronze medals, for innovations that apply to a wide range of fields: winegrowing, fruit and vegetable growing, winemaking and packaging.In this context, marked by innovation and evolution, Forigo Roter Italia will present its tailor-made and innovative solutions dedicated to the agricultural and horticultural sector, designed to respond to a market in constant evolution that requires increasingly efficient machines, with attention to environmental protection.
