DLR Feldtag Gemüsebau 2021: horticulture and field trials in Germany

The Forigo team is ready to cross national borders and head to Germany, for a very important event for the horticulture sector. We are talking about the DLR Feldtag Gemüsebau, Field Horticulture Day organized by the DLR (Dienstleistungszentren Ländlicher Raum, Rhineland-Palatinate Horticulture Experimental Center). The day will be held on 9 September in Schifferstadt, in the southwest of Germany. Find out more details about the event in this article!

It is since 2004 that in September – and precisely on the second Thursday of the month – Schifferstadt becomes the scene of an event that involves the entire horticulture sector: the DLR Feldtag Gemüsebau is an annual event that has never been missed, even in unusual circumstances such as those of the past year. Rich programs alternated every year, with current themes focused on innovations and the needs of professionals in the sector.

The event takes place at the DLR Queckbrunnerhof Experimental Center: this center includes about 22.5 hectares of land, as well as a greenhouse area of ​​about 1,200 m². Inside the center, almost 20% of the area is dedicated to organic agriculture, but there is also space for tests and experimental processes regarding plant protection and integrated agriculture.

Previous editions had seen the alternation of crucial topics for the horticultural sector, such as catch crops, worm control, fertilization of various vegetables, the efficacy and phytotoxicity of herbicides and much more. Also in this there will be opportunities for exchange but, above all, you will have the opportunity to see in action the solutions brought by the numerous participating exhibitors: the whole day will be dedicated to demonstrations on the field with which the participants will be able to realize and touch with their hands the efficiency and potential of the proposed technologies and machines.

For Forigo this is not the first participation in the event, but this year more than ever being able to return in the field is a precious opportunity to share experiences, skills and ideas, in a lively and professional context that has so muche to give to anyone who can participate to it. The innovative Forigo solutions will be ready to get to work and show their unique features and their efficiency: demonstrations will take place throughout the day to offer everyone the opportunity to see the action of the machines with their own eyes.
